National Steeplechase Museum - Camden - South Carolina

The National Steeplechase Museum is located at the Springdale Race Course in Camden, South Carolina and offers a glimpse of how a steeplechase training facility works. It offers displays of the owners who have won the “Steeplechaser of the Year” from 1948 to the present. Memorabilia and photographs showcase steeplechasing history, and exhibits are changed twice a year. The NSA Ambrose Clark Award winners are displayed at the museum honoring those who have been recognized for their contributions to steeplechasing.

National Steeplechase MuseumThe museum also contains a library dedicated to J. V. H. “Bobby” Davis, a very notable rider and trainer, and the roots of steeplechasing can be found in the library. The “Victorian Hill” trophy room contains trophies for the last seventy years.

So, plan to visit the museum for a day of fun and explore the exciting world of steeplechase racing. While you’re here, ride the “Equisizer”, which is designed to help train jockeys, and check out the souvenirs that are on sale as well.
