Quality education, a major concern, is vital to our economic prosperity. Good working relationships between individual Kershaw County schools and the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce strengthen our school programs and enhance our economic growth. Public school systems, as good as they are, cannot provide youth with all the help they need, either career planning or in exposure to the talents and expertise represented by the employees of business/industrial groups. Business/industrial communities, as good as they are, cannot effectively exist apart from the educational systems that prepare their future employees. Partnerships between schools and business/industries are not only desirable but also essential. Participation in the Kershaw County Partners in Educations Program requires voluntary acts of commitment from both a school and an organization to a partnership that promotes instructional progress.
To facilitate this process the Kershaw County School Systems with the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce are launching the Kershaw County Partners in Education program. Many successful partnerships can be formed and will contribute greatly to the enrichment and the quality of education in Kershaw County.
Both partners, schools and business/industry, will benefit from the relationship. By working directly with professionals from business and industry students will develop an awareness and appreciation for the business/industry world. Business/industry partners will develop a sense of pride and accomplishment by serving as role models and by sharing experiences with young people.
